I think I like the idea of one-shot takes because of the similarities to a stage show. Although it might offer a second chance where a stage show would not, it would ask for the cast to reach a level of precision and reliability that would no doubt result in a higher quality end result.
I started watching Adolescence on recommendation and can see the cheap message it might end up going for, however I must applaud at least the first episode for its execution. I wonder how much it being a four-part series was to do with intended length and how much to so with the complexities of creating such a show.
I will likely watch the rest in my down time, but more now I am coloured impressed.
